My WiSH Charity's Every Heart Matters Appeal

Every Heart Matters Appeal · 17 July 2017
Our Every Heart Matters appeal was launched in July 2017 to benefit cardiac patients across West Suffolk.
As a charity we fundraise to enhance the wonderful care already given to patients and their families at West Suffolk Hospital and our new appeal is no exception.
The plan was to raise £500,000 for a new cardiac diagnostics unit to complete the fully-integrated cardiac centre planned by West Suffolk Hospital.
Many patients were having to go to other hospitals for cardiac services - to have pacemakers fitted or for other treatments or more invasive procedures, which meant they had to wait for further diagnosis and treatment.
The new plans saw the coronary care unit and cardiac ward come together with a new imaging and pacing suite allowing pacemakers and angiograms to be fitted and performed.
Working closely with our wonderful cardiology team and consultant, Dr Pegah Salahshouri, in November 2018 we were thrilled to welcome our appeal ambassador, Frankie Dettori MBE, along to open the diagnostic unit.
Now fully up and running, the cardiac centre is already making a huge difference to our cardiac patients and we can't thank all our donors enough for their fantastic support.
We will be keeping the appeal open to help us continue to support and enhance the care in the cardiac diagnostic unit in the future so please support our appeal and help us make a difference because every heart matters.
