Story

On Saturday 2nd April we are asking the village to help raise money for the humanitarian crisis in Ukraine. 🇺🇦

The plan is to have a continuous stream of people walking around a 1.2 mile loop in the village (Main Street, Woodvale Road, Mill Path) starting from Eglinton Primary School for 7 seven hours- between 10am - 5pm. Approximately very 20 minutes a new wave of people will set off. 🚶🚶‍♂️🚶‍♀️

Take part as an Individual, family or group and walk as many, or as few loops as you like. Or take part as a team and attempt to complete all 21 loops in a relay fashion (completing approx. a marathon).

There is a suggested donation of £5 per loop (per group), however, you are free to donate whatever you can afford. Collection buckets will be available at Eglinton Primary School and you can donate online here.

This is a great opportunity for the whole village to come together, raise money and to support the people of Ukraine.

Intense conflict in Ukraine is threatening the lives and livelihoods of civilians across the country, causing hundreds of thousands to flee. Homes have been destroyed or are unsafe to live in. Essential services have been hit. Families have been separated. People have been injured. Lives have been lost.DEC charities and their local partners are in Ukraine and across the border in the neighbouring countries. They are working to meet the immediate needs of all people fleeing with food, water, medical assistance, protection and trauma care.£30 could provide essential hygiene supplies for three people for one month£50 could provide blankets for 4 families to keep them warm£100 could provide emergency food for two families for one month
