Story
I have chosen to help raise money to Rainbow Trust Children’s charity, while doing the Three peaks challenge in 2023, attempting to summit the highest mountain in Scotland, England and Wales all within a 24 hour period.Starting with Ben Nevis in Scotland, the highest and hardest of the 3 peaks at 1345m high, we aim to reach the summit AND get back to the start point within 5 hours. Then we will make the 6-7 hour journey to the second peak, Scafell Pike in England (978m) with the aim to reach the summit and get back to the car park within 4 hours. The journey to the final peak, Snowdon in Wales (1085m) will take between 4-5 hours leaving us just 4 hours to reach the summit and get back to the finish like. That’s approximately 12 hours of hiking and 12 hours of driving!
My reasons for choosing this charity are simple. Having a child with a life threatening illness is very difficult and I feel it is unfair how such an innocent soul has to go through so much before even starting their life. Children are very precious in our lives and I hope that the money raised will help certain families with the care that their child needs.
There are an estimated 86,625* children in England with life-limiting or life-threatening conditions. This number has trebled over the last 17 years and is rising. Thousands of families have to face the very real possibility that their child may die and struggle to cope on a day to day basis.
Please help me reach my target and follow my journey as I complete the challenge within 24h. Your donations are very important to me and to the Charity, I realise times are tough at the moment but whatever you can donate it will help. Thank you 🙏
