Story
I am always shocked to see people sleeping outside and it makes me feel very uncomfortable and angry that this can happen in a rich country in 2020. People can become homeless for lots of reasons and Crawley Open House is there to help.
Sleeping outside for one night this November won't be anything like the reality of being homeless of course, but it will maybe give a glimpse of the discomfort, cold and lack of sleep which is the nightly reality for too many people. All money raised will go to Crawley Open House, an independent local charity who for over 25 years have offered accommodation and support to those who find themselves homeless.
I'm going to be doing this with my dad because it will be outside of our garden in a public place. It can get below freezing in late November so we think we will probably have to have a basic tent as well as a sleeping bag but we are aiming for as little comforts as possible so that it is a proper challenge. We will post updates and share photos.
If you would like to donate £2, the cost of a hot drink, to Crawley Open House, or whatever you can spare, this would be really appreciated. Please share this with anyone who you think might like to donate, or join us.
