Ed's London Marathon 2024

London Marathon 2024 · 21 April 2024 ·
In 2022 I successfully ran the Great Birmingham Half Marathon and raised over £700 for the Alzheimer's Society. This time around I'm going for the big one... On the 21st of April 2024 I will be degrading my knee cartilage around one of the most iconic race routes in the world, the London Marathon. I'll be doing this to support Alzheimer's Research UK and all the wonderful work that they do.
I know from personal experience with my Poppa - Charles Symonds - how much work and support is required to keep dementia sufferers comfortable and connected to reality and how frustrating the lack of viable treatment options has been. However, with the support of research charities like ARUK, new treatments are becoming available and the hope for both symptom relieving and disease modifying medicine truly here. That's why this time I'm fundraising for a research charity, to help create a future where everyone with Alzheimer's and other forms of dementia can have a better outcome than my Poppa.
Please donate to support me and help Alzheimer's Research UK Bring about the first life-changing dementia treatment by 2025. Their vision is a world where people are free from the fear, harm and heartbreak of dementia.
