Story
Having struggled through the Stockholm Marathon (as the
result of a so-called ‘present’) I have now been coaxed into tackling another marathon. This time I am hoping raise valuable funds for The J’s Hospice. This will yet again be a significant personal challenge as I’m certainly not a natural marathon runner!!
The J's Hospice provides invaluable care and support to young adults (aged 16-40) with life limiting and life threatening conditions, the local hospice also provides invaluable care and support to families. Over recent years the charity provided regular care and support to my girlfriends’ family. The family formed a close bond with the charity, and indeed Georgie’s cousin is also with me running in aid of the J’s.
I’m tackling the London Marathon for an exceptional charity,
I have seen first-hand the incredible work the J's do and I also know how hard it is to carry on with this care with a lack of funding. I’m hoping to raise as much money as possible to allow The J’s Hospice to continue their invaluable work. Although I have managed to complete one marathon before, I have no doubt that this will be an even tougher challenge – now I know just how far it is and the need to give up every Sunday for the next 3 months.
Thank you for reading and any support would be very much
appreciated.
