Event: Virgin London Marathon 2012, on 22 April 2012

Story

Having intimately witnessed the physical and mental trauma that serving in Afghanistan can bring, I feel it is incumbent on us to raise money.  A £1000 will provide a life skills course for a soldier to get back on his feet.  They have proved very successful and I would like you to play a part in helping a wounded Paratrooper come to terms with his injury and realise there is another life to lead.

My admin means I ask you in retrospect, having completed both Brighton and London Marathons in 8 days. I have to say I found the latter part of the London Marathon a little tiring…

I am asking 50 of my friends and family to pay £20 each to raise the £1000.

About the charity

The Afghanistan Trust gives assistance to soldiers of The Parachute Regiment who were wounded in action, or the dependants of those killed in action in Afghanistan. It achieves this through financial and welfare support. It also sustains the memories of the loss of life and sacrifices made
