Rainbows is the East Midlands’ only hospice for children and young people. They are there for children and for their families when they need help the most.
The Covid pandemic has been tough on everyone, but it has hit Rainbows hard and they really need your support.
In July 2014 our amazing little boy, Noah, was born, however five months later we were shocked and utterly devastated when Noah was diagnosed with SMA Type1.
SMA stands for Spinal Muscular Atrophy; it is a genetic disorder, which at the time there was no treatment for and we were told that Noah was unlikely to reach his first birthday.
Noah was one of the happiest babies you could ever hope to meet. He had the most beautiful big brown eyes, crazy hair and the cheekiest smile you will ever see.
In October 2015 Noah died. He was surrounded by his Mum, Dad and best friend Isambard the dog. He was 15 months old.
Throughout Noah's illness, friends and family were amazing, however we also received incredible support from the Diana Nurses, ACT for SMA and from Rainbows Hospice for Children.
Rainbows is the most incredible place. Not only do they provide amazing care for children and support for those who love them most, but they also manage to bring joy and happiness into their lives as well.
Our family will never forget the good times we had at Rainbows, the laughter we had with Noah in the sensory room and the fun we had together in the swimming pool.
Your support means Rainbows will be able to provide end of life care, symptom management, short breaks, respite care and also be there to support parents and siblings through their bereavements.
