Battersea might be a household name, but two facts about the animal shelter often surprise people:

a) Battersea is funded purely by everyday people like you and does not receive a penny of government funding

b) unlike many shelters, Battersea has an open-intake policy, meaning it never turns away a do or cat, regardless of age, breed, medical condition or behaviour

Therefore Battersea's around the clock care, veterinary attention and ongoing training for thousands of animals per year, is only possible due to the generosity of its supporters.
