Story
*FUNDRAISING STARTED AGAIN 21 SEPTEMBER 2021, £848 already donated to date - thank you to everyone who has already sponsored me!*
St Ann's Hospice is a charity which cares for thousands of local people with cancer and non-cancer life-limiting illnesses every year.
I am a long standing supporter of the Hospice in a whole host of different ways. But this year I decided to up my game and give myself a bit more of a challenge. Having taken a break from big runs after completing the Manchester Half Marathon in October 2018, I have joined Team St Ann's and I am now training for the 2020 Manchester Marathon which (postponed twice last year) is finally taking place on 10th October 2021.
It feels great to be finally reaching the actual race day after starting training 3 times now! That's somewhere near 800 miles of training so far across 2 training plans that were cut short by the even being twice postponed, and this final (proper) training plan.
The Hospice has a daily target to raise £20,000 a day.
Every penny helps the charity to care for local people with cancer and other life-limiting illnesses.
£5.60 - could help us keep our drinks trolley stocked for patients to enjoy.
£10.30 - could help us top up toys in our play area to give families a place to enjoy together.
£15.80 - could go towards the materials required for patients to make a memory box for loved ones.
£20.60 - could pay for a therapy session for a patient or carer.
£30.60 could pay for a bereavement session for a loved one with our specialist team.
£1,801 could pay for a day of care from our Patient and Family Support Team.
Thank you so much for your support in helping me reach my fundraising target.
