Story
This is our 2022 fundraiser for African fiction and non-fiction books. We believe that every child and adult should have access to books that reflect their culture and identity, and are relevant to their local needs and syllabus requirements.
EduSpots wants to ensure that all of our 50 Spots have a significant African fiction and non-fiction section by the end of 2022. At the end of 2022 we hope to share photos of the extended section in a number of Spots, thanks to your generous support.
Our local volunteers believe that international books can help build core literacy skills and expose students to relevant universal and international knowledge areas, however they have also consistently requested further African fiction, non-fiction and local text books.
Funds raised on this page up to £10,000 will be spent on African fiction and non-fiction books, new bookcases, book delivery costs and related literacy development costs.
EduSpots is an educational movement which connects, trains, and equips educational ‘catalysts’ to drive the creation of sustainable educational projects. Our vision is of a world in which communities unite to create the future they want to see.We have supported 300 educational catalysts in 40 communities in creating community-led education ‘spots’, powered by solar, whilst nurturing reflection on sustainable development and leading programmes in practical STEM and literacy development. Roughly 15,000 learners have been positively impacted.
