On the 13 May 2020, Simon, passed away after a 6 month battle with cancer. To get him through the boredom of not being able to work as a barber as he had done for the past 30 years he set up the twitter page @politicaltrims combining his work with an interest in politics. 

When Simon first commented, hilariously on my lack of trim during the GE 2019 campaign, I knew his banter would be a source of fun in a sometimes very serious few weeks and months. This continued right up until I received the shock news of his death in May 2020. 

Simon's brother continued his twitter page and has chosen the teenage cancer trust for this fundraising and this is why (in his words): 

"Cancer is tough at any age it hacks away at you physically and mentally, this must be incredibly tough at such a young age and I know as a former foster parent to many teens Simon would've agreed."

On the 1st of March 2021 Simon would've turned 55 and to mark his birthday Simon's brother is hoping to run 55 political fundRAZOR's for Teenage Cancer Trust. 

I have unwittingly chosen to get my chest waxed and, if we reach £1,500 I will get my armpits done too. 

Even my opposing parties can get involved if they want to see my write around in pain for some time on a table - all for a good cause!
