Every parent has the same wish for their child - they lead a long and rewarding life.  Tragically, for a number of families, their wish does not come true.  This is where Shooting Star Children's Hospice come in - this may well be a charity you have never heard of and in many ways I hope you have not.   Quotes such as "Shooting Star Children's Hospice gave us one last Christmas together" are heart-breaking.

Shooting Star are an amazing charity that support babies, children and young people with life-limiting conditions, and their families across London and Surrey. Whether lives are measured in days, weeks, months or years, they are there to make every moment count. They support families from diagnosis to end of life and throughout bereavement with a range of nursing, practical, emotional and medical care.  They care for the whole family, offering short breaks, therapies, days out, bereavement support and more to parents, siblings and grandparents.

Shooting Star need £10m per annum to provide this support, 10% is from the government, the remainder is from donations.   

I am very proud to be running for and supporting this charity.  Every £ raised will make a massive difference for families at the most difficult time.
