Story

Any donation is welcome, please include your team name and age group in the comments.

May 10th was due to be our Cup Finals Day, we can’t celebrate that now but we could do something useful on the day, to entertain the kids and raise money for the NHS staff at the local hospital which serves our community, University Hospital Southampton. Although there will be no cups, you will all have the chance to be winners on the day!

So we want everyone involved with the Eastleigh & District Mini Soccer League to keep it up for the NHS by taking part in our Keepy Up Challenge on May 10th., by doing Keepy Ups or any other football skill you might wish to perform. It's a chance for the whole family to have a bit of fun on the day whilst getting sponsorship to raise money for our local front-line NHS heroes.

The League will be providing our limited -edition footballs to the top twenty individual fund raisers and also the top tenteams that raise the most from their individual members contributions, whether they be players, parents, coaches or managers.

There is no set format, you set your own targets, which may for example be the number of continuous Keepy Ups, or doing them for a specific period of time, say an hour or a day!

We would also welcome you sending us your videos, the best ten will be put on our website and also win one of our limited-edition footballs.

With over 2600 players and 260 teams we hope to say a big thank you to our NHS heroes, so please make every effort to play your part on the day.

Your generous gift wont be used to pay for equipment and services the government has committed to funding.Instead well use it to:Boost staff morale.Support their mental health and wellbeing.Your money has enabled us to fund wellness packages with hand creams, food supplies and mental health support information. Weve also ordered coffee machines to be distributed across the hospital sites and are in the process of securing milk, refreshments and paper deliveries which is especially important now that many of the shops and restaurants have closed on site. But there is so much more that is needed like:iPads for our Occupational Health colleagues enabling them to do interactive sessions with staff whilst remaining off site.Tablets for our staff so that they can connect safely with their loved ones at home whilst working long shifts or isolating themselves. We have also identified a safe space for staff, but the room needs remodeling in order to support their needs.
