Story

Along with my wonderful friend Sophie Tully, I will be tackling the London to Brighton cycle ride this September, because raising money for a fantastic cause most definitely overrides the discomfort of our burning thighs and sore bottoms! I am by no means anywhere near to an endurance athlete, so even after training all year every one of the 88km is going to be fun…

I wanted to push myself, and support a great cause close to my heart. I had a couple of charities in mind when I decided to undertake this challenge, from supporting Alzheimer’s research, to refugees, and environmental issues.

I settled on Macmillan after finding out an old friend of mine had begun what would ultimately prove to be a devastating fight with Leukaemia. While following her challenge I was amazed by her overwhelming positivity throughout, but I never got around to telling her she had inspired me to fundraise for this amazing charity. Sadly, I will now be completing it in her memory. SH… ynwa x

Cancer is a truly uncompromising disease. Every 2 minutes, someone in the UK is diagnosed with a type of cancer. It has no discrimination, no age limit, and across our lifetimes unfortunately the overwhelming odds are either us or our loved ones will be affected in some degree. Macmillan provide individual support to those diagnosed with cancer, their family, friends and carers during such a difficult time, and campaign to provide better support for those living with cancer in order to enable them to live a life as full as possible.

So please, please sponsor me!
