This Sunday, 18 September, a group of us are tackling the 24 mile Edinburgh Kiltwalk.
We are raising awareness and money for DEBRA, a national charity that supports families that are affected by Epidermolysis Bullosa (EB). As many of you know, as a family, we have raised money for DEBRA for a number of years due to a close family friend having Recessive Dystrophic EB, a severe form of this blistering skin disorder. Isla is now 14 years old and she's great company and on Sunday she will be completing the 13 mile Kiltwalk route in her wheelchair, accompanied by her mum Tilli and our sister, Sarah. A large DEBRA team will be completing the 24 mile route, also including Isla's dad and our brother in law.
We are keeping our fingers crossed for kind weather and your generous donations are also a great motivation for us all. As a smaller charity, DEBRA is always in need of donations to keep up their excellent work supporting children with EB and their families and putting funding into research for a cure.
Every penny we raise will be topped up by 50% thanks to the generosity of Sir Tom Hunter and The Hunter Foundation. Any donation you can spare will mean the world to me and DEBRA. Thank you!
