Story
Hi,
My name is Edgar and I am very passionate about fitness. For those who don’t know me, I’m often described as kind, generous, caring, hard working, motivating, a warm soul, and someone who always likes to push boundaries, achieve goals and thrives on challenges.
I have been working at Livability at Horizons for over 5 years. For those who don’t know, Livability is the charity that’s committed to enabling people with disabilities to live the life they want to lead. Each day I am so grateful and thankful, not only that I have a job but that I’m able to positively impact life’s in some sort of way everyday I go into work.
As a thank you to them for allowing me to work there, and to support them, I wanted to say thank you in classical Edgar style....by attempting to reach a massive task of running 100 kilometres (62 miles) in 24 hours and raising money for them.
Although the number sounds massive, and this is by far one of the greatest challenge in my life to this date, the real heroes are the guys I support, as they are facing challenges every single day. Even simple things we take for granted, and them carrying out their daily routines are massive challenges for them and they do their best to overcome them each day.
With the money that I am able to raise, it will be used for sensory toys, to plan trips out for them when all the restrictions of covid are over and also to welcome their families with a party when they all can come over to visit them.
I am thankful for everyone who has been involved in this journey thus far, and for everyone who will be involved along the way, I appreciate it a lot.
Please donate as little or as much as you can, as every thing will help and it’s the littlest things that bring them the greatest of joys.
Thank you.
