Story
Hi, thanks for visiting my page! I'll get straight to the point:
The Trek
Late this August, Lucy Moore and I will be setting out on the trek of a lifetime on the Troms Border Trail. This trek will take us over 85 miles through the Arctic wilderness from Northern Norway, through Sweden to Finland, well above the Arctic Circle and will take approximately nine days.
There is very little in this area - a long way from civilisation - so, with only our tent, a rucksack full of supplies and limited outdoors experience, this adventure will certainly push us to our limits. We expect to experience harsh weather conditions, rough terrain and dangerous animals including bears and wolves.
The charity
The reason I am doing this is to raise money for a charity that I am very passionate about. Money for Madagascar funds projects to support Malagasy men, women and children who face hunger and poverty as well as helping those with disabilities. As well as the Malagasy people, Money for Madagascar helps to protect the environment of Madagascar - the vast majority of which is endemic.
I am passionate about this charity since I spent three months of my life last year living amongst the Malagasy people of Nosy Komba - a beautiful, remote island off the North coast of Madagascar and volunteering as an English teacher. Never in my life have I met such welcoming, compassionate and generous people. What stood out most for me during my time in Madagascar was how the Malagasy people appreciated what little they have. Despite being, in my opinion, the most beautiful country in the world, Madagascar suffers. It is amongst the top ten poorest countries in the world. But their struggles do not stop the peoplefrom smiling.
Please, please donate to help this cause and change somebody's life.
