Story
As part of my Bar Mitzvah preparation, I have committed to raising money for a charity I care about. This is known as a “Tikkun" project
"Tikkun Olam" is a Hebrew phrase that means “repairing the world” which suggests humanity’s shared responsibility to heal and transform the world.
On September 22nd (in the pouring rain!) my dad and I kayaked 10km from the Camden Lock to Paddington Basin and then back again. The kayak took over 3 hours and was great fun.
I have supported The Shark Trust for many years and I am strongly passionate about this charity.
Sharks and rays are some of the ocean's most amazing animals. Present in our seas for 400 million years, they are vital and valuable but also vulnerable. Around a quarter of the 1000 or so species of sharks and rays are considered "threatened", largely due to the impact of unsustainable fisheries. The Shark Trust works tirelessly in the UK and around the World to ensure endangered species of sharks are suitably protected, while also pushing for science-based fisheries management for all species to ensure long term sustainability.
Your support is much appreciated.
