Story
I am lucky. My family and I are all healthy, and although we've had our health scares, none of them proved to be serious. Many others, including some we have known, are not so lucky and the selfless work done by Eden Valley Hospice and Jigsaw means that those for whom there will be no recovery can still receive care and support with dignity through to the end of their lives.
To help support this work, on Sunday 10th September 2023 I am taking on the Great North Run, running 13.1 miles, to raise funds for Eden Valley Hospice and Jigsaw, Cumbria's Children's Hospice.
I have done a half marathon before, but this was over 10 years ago, and loath as I am to admit it, I'm not as young as I used to be. I've been training since January in all weathers, and while it has been hard at times, the idea of helping out this excellent cause has motivated me to keep going.
Please help me to support this wonderful cause. Your donation will help them provide care and support to local people when they need it most. Together we can help them to continue their work, thank you!
