Story
Endurance training & events have become a way of life for me. This is my next challenge, a healthy step up from Ironman triathlons. Only time will tell I guess.
I have 30 hours to finish this 100-mile race. In training, I'll have reached 50 miles three times over the coming weeks. So the second half of the race will be totally foreign to me. Not knowing how my body or more importantly my mind will fare is a scary & exciting prospect, in equal measure. But I've worked hard to make this dream come true, very hard. Making many sacrifices & constantly battling with self-doubt & injuries along the way.
I've been training for over 6 months for this race. This will be my first ultra. Many friends & family will be coming down to support me. This really is a team event and all are welcome to come down & yell at me for absolutely no charge. Although, if you do donate to this great cause. Then you don't have to come.
I've chosen this charity because a great friend of mine suffers from this disease. And in all honesty, he struggles to get around but with much love & support he has a fruitful & wonderful life. And we all bloody love him.
However, on this day. Saturday 15th September/Sunday 16th September. I will need yours. Cause this is going to hurt. Hurt a lot. But I'm up for it. Pledge to donate if I finish in under 30 hours after the race or chuck in a donation now.
Thank you.
