Story
On the morning of 23 May 2021 my mum Caroline died after just over a decade of battling with brain cancer. The same morning a friend’s father also passed away from a brain tumour - his family only had a couple of months to prepare.
Brain tumours come in many different types and malignancies, affecting both adults and children (they are the leading cause of childhood cancer deaths in the UK), but wherever they occur their impact is immense. In addition to the support the Brain Tumour Charity provides to affected individuals and their families, they are also the largest dedicated funder of research into brain tumours globally.
I have decided to strap on my running shoes and take on the London Marathon to raise funds for the Brain Tumour Charity in memory of mum. I would really appreciate any donations, so please give me as much motivation as possible on the (annoyingly circuitous) route from Greenwich to the Mall!
Thanks so much,
Ed
