Story

I know. I know. Every year. I keep asking and you keep giving. You are WONDERFUL PEOPLE.

The truth is that I think that every year will be the last. No more running. No more fund raising. But then the Vodafone Foundation launches a new fantastic campaign and it is impossible to turn it down. I have tried.

This year it's the Vodafone Foundation Choose Love campaign, providing long term education programmes for mothers and girls in refugee camps, plus food shelter & clothing. Money raised will be delivered through the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) and Help Refugees.

This is a campaign close to my heart, as my own mother used to consistently champion education as the best way for everyone from all backgrounds to get a start in life.

My part in this is to foolishly attempt three separate events: a SwimRun in the brutal Lake District (a sickening combination of mountainous marathon and chilly openwater 6km swim); a 300+ mile cycle up steep jaggedy hills in SW England; before finally attempting to lumber up the UKs 3 highest peaks in 24 hours.

At which point I shall collapse.

The overall target is £1 million. My target is £2,000. The Foundation will match every pound you donate, so the more you give the better everyone will be!

Thank you.
