Story
On the 23rd April 2023 I will be running the London Marathon with a group of friends in memory of lost loved ones and to raise money for Mind, the mental health charity who provide advice and support to empower anyone experiencing a mental health problem.
My London Marathon journey started in 2018 when I got a place in the ballot. Unfortunately for various reasons (injury & covid) I still haven't made it to the start line, however 2023 is the year I finally complete the 26.2 miles on the streets of London.
I'm doing my bit to help tackle the issue of mental health being misunderstood and misrepresented, and trying to help those who are suffering on a daily basis. Mental illness can have a devastating effect on individuals, their friends and families. Everyone deserves to live a happy life, and thanks to charities like Mind, more people will be able to do so.
I hope that as well as raising funds to support those suffering, my marathon will outline the benefits of running for mental health and how it has helped me along my journey. Any amount that you can afford to donate, big or small, would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks again and I hope to see some of you on April 23rd!
