Story

2020 was a year of terrible news. I'm starting the new year by doing something positive about the news, by raising money for The Economist Educational Foundation.

Over the course of two weeks I'll be joining the Economist Films team cycling, running, walking and skating the combined equivalent distance from Lands End to John O'Groats—just shy of 1,000km— to raise money for The Economist Educational Foundation. As we can't travel to either Cornwall or Scotland, we'll be running and cycling as far as we can locally.

The Economist Educational Foundation helps young people aged 8 - 14, often in deprived areas, understand and engage with the news. Amid a social-media onslaught of skewed news and misinformation, news literacy is more important than ever.

Your donations will help the next generation to acquire the skills to think and speak for themselves about current affairs and discuss them constructively.

Please help me to raise funds for a great cause!
