Story
Mount Kilimanjaro Challenge October 2008
'The Rooftop of Africa'
My Grandfather died of MND when I was very small and a close family member of a good friend of mine was diagnosed last year. I’m sure many of us are aware of the distress caused by this illness.
To help raise funds for MND I plan to trek through dense jungle, glacier and rock in an attempt to reach Uhuru (5896m), the summit and highest point of Kilimanjaro. Kilimanjaro is Africa's highest peak and the highest stand alone mountain in the world. It is an extinct volcano in Tanzania's far north-eastern plains. It will be a challenging time but a fantastic adventure and a great opportunity to see the ecological diversity that this mountain has to offer.
In the coming months I will be organising events to raise funds for MND.
Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor me: the Motor Neurone Disease Association will receive your money faster and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you.
So please sponsor me as much or as little as you can!
Thank you for your support.
