Story
Dear Lovely Colleague, Friend, or Family,
I hope this email finds you well, and I apologise for reaching out with a heavy heart. As many of you are aware, last Christmas Eve, I tragically lost my 8-month-old grandson (my son's Cat) in an incident that occurred in my flat. I carry a weight of responsibility for what happened, as he fell from an eighth-floor window.
Since that day, I have struggled to find purpose and meaning in my life. Each day feels like an insurmountable challenge as I am haunted by the memory of that terrible event. Time has not eased the pain; if anything, it has compounded it.
In an effort to turn my grief into something positive, I am undertaking a significant challenge. On Sunday, the 8th of April, at 11:36 a.m., I will be attempting to run or walk a route detailed in the map below. Despite my severe back pain and sciatica in my right leg, exacerbated by eight unsuccessful operations, I am determined to raise awareness and support for those in need across the UK.
I know that I cannot undertake this half marathon alone. Your support, whether through joining me on the day or contributing via the charity link below, would mean the world to me.
Thank you in advance for your kindness and consideration. My thoughts are with you and your families, and I wish you all the very best.
Warm regards,
Ebrahim Salehi
