Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

In 2018, I decided to start running to raise money and awareness of Sepsis.

Sepsis affects 250,000 people a year in the UK, 44,000 deaths.

£5 will provide an information booklet to 10 relatives of patients in the ICU

£20 will pay for posters in GP surgery's making sepsis more known

£90 will save lives

£100 will provide ICU with resources and educate at least 50 members of the public about sepsis

£200 will hold regional support groups to those who was affected by sepsis.

My Grandad survived Sepsis twice, this was through the hospital responding quickly and knowing the right things to make him better. He sadly lost his life due to Sepsis on the 8th May 2019.

Sepsis accounts for 48,000 deaths annually in the UK, that’s more than breast, bowel and prostate cancer put together. Sepsis is what happens when our immune system overreacts to an infection. Symptoms initially present as flu like but can rapidly deteriorate into a life threatening condition.
