We fight hunger and food waste to feed over 1 million people.

Story

Mary & I will be eating & drinking for £1 each a day during February to raise funds for Fairshare which is a UK charity fighting hunger by tackling food waste.

3.9 million tonnes of food is wasted every year in the UK while 5.8 million people in the UK live in poverty.

We both think this situation is unacceptable considering we live in a country with more super rich people per head of population than any other country in the world.

Mary and I are both very lucky to be able to enjoy good quality food everyday of our lives so we thought it would be a worthwhile challenge for us to experience the difficulties of feeding ourselves on a very limited budget.

During the month of February we will feed ourselves off a budget of £56 between us for the whole month (equivalent to £1 each a day). This will cover breakfast, lunch, dinner and any drinks. We won't be accepting any freebies during that time so won't be able to let anyone help us out with meals or drinks.

Follow our journey on our blog http://eatforpoundadayfebruary.blogspot.co.uk/

We would really appreciate any donation you can spare which will go to help real people in poverty.
