Story
Hello Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.
My name is Tanya Seckington & I'm 36 years of age. Nine years ago I was diagnosed with CLL ( Cronic Lymphomic Leukemia). For the past nine years I have been attending the Wooden Spoon Cancer Care & Haematology Unit at Stoke Mandeville Hospital.
The staff have been fantastic in helping me to come to terms with the initial diagnosis, through 2 bouts of chemotherapy ( to keep the condition under control) & preparing me for my transplant. At the time of writing this I'm in hospital recovering from a bone marrow transplant which hopefully will lead to the cure of my condition.
Like many units in the current climet, the woodenspoon is always in need of extra funds to be able to continue the great work & care they provide.
For this reason my partner & five friends (Rob Busby, Marce Coulon, Paul Fincken, Stewart Ingram, Tim Meakes, Adam Tillion.) have decided to undertake the 140 Mile Coast to Coast Bike Ride to help raise much needed funds to continue the good work.
