Story
Mydentist teams across the country have voted to support
Dementia UK in a bid to make a difference to all those affected.
Dementia is one of the biggest health challenges facing
the NHS in the UK, and is recognised as a global time bomb. It’s estimated there will be over a million people suffering with Dementia in the UK by 2025.
Dementia is a disorder with deterioration in both memory
and thinking which is sufficient to impair personal activities of daily living. That includes the ability to maintain oral health and dental care.
Mydentist teams across East Lancashire will be completing
22 fundraising activities by the end of March 2022. Yes that’s right TWENTY-TWO
We’ll be kicking off our events with a challenge for our
teams to walk 678 miles, which is the distance from the furthest north and furthest south mydentist practices. *gulp!
Our other events will include a fancy dress fundraiser, charity car wash, cycling challenge, charity bag packing, walking the three peaks, as well as bake sales, colouring competition and name the teddy. In honour of all those affected we will create a memory board in
practices for people to share their most memorable moments.
We can work together with Dementia UK to provide hope for vulnerable families facing dementia by improving their quality of life, health and wellbeing.
