In 2019, one of sisters was diagnosed with ovarian cancer. It was also confirmed that she carried the BRCA gene. BRCA is short for Breast Cancer. This hereditary gene massively heightens the chances of women contracting both Breast and Ovarian cancer.

I was tested for it (men can get breast cancer too), along with my other sister. I was clear, but my other sister also carried the gene. 

My sister who had ovarian cancer, came through her treatment, but both of my sisters have had to have further life altering surgery to mitigate the chances of contracting this horrible disease.

The fight against Breast Cancer continues and along with one of my sisters, I will be walking 100km continuous on the Thames Path Ultra Walk, to raise as much money as we can. We aim to finish within 24 hours and all of your support is greatly appreciated.
