Story

Thank you for taking time out and visiting our Just Giving Page, The 3 Amigos Take On The Three Peaks!

Myself and 2 good friends, Anthony Hackworth and Ralph Grimwood, are attempting to do the Yorkshire Three Peaks which is a 24-mile long walk, and includes 5,200ft (1,585m) of ascent, on Saturday 2nd September.

We are doing this in memory of my Dad, Thomas Byrne, who sadly
lost his battle with cancer on New Year’s Day.  And also in some small way to try and offer something back to the amazing people who work so hard to help so many people’s tough days be better than they might otherwise be; the fantastic people who work and volunteer for St Catherine’s Hospice.

We want to raise as much money as we can for St Catherine’s Hospice
as it is a charity that is extremely close to our hearts and it will be great
to know that we have been able to help them to continue their amazing work.

My Dad was always full of life he was a real character and
loved walking and spending time in the Yorkshire Dales and the Lake District so doing this walk seems a very apt tribute to him.

St Catherine’s Hospice allowed him some real dignity and gave
us the chance to spend those precious last days with him in a supportive and friendly environment.

So here is how you can help, these are some targets we really
hope we can help them to achieve:

£20 – pays for an in-patient’s meal and refreshments for 1 day

£200 – pays for a patient to attend their Day Hospice for 1 day

£500 – pays for 1 In-Patient Unit bed for 1 day

£1,000 – pays their community nurse specialist team for 1 day

£5,000 – pays for the hospice at home team for 1 day

It will be great if we can meet some of these milestones for
them, so please give what you can however big or small it is truly appreciated.  Thank You!
