We provide peer to peer support groups to reduce male suicide

Story

E3 Recruitment is excited to announce that Andy’s Man Club is our new charity partner for 2022.

Andy’s Man Club offers free-to-attend talking groups for men, challenging the stigmas around male mental health. The money E3R raises will go towards running the 97 clubs nationwide from Plymouth to Aberdeen, who open their doors every Monday at 7 pm to hundreds of men.

On average one man every two hours takes his life in the UK, it’s often said a factor is that men struggle to talk or address their feelings. Therefore, Andy’s Man Club was born to break down these stigmas and support men struggling with mental health issues.

For Mental Health Awareness Week this year E3R aimed to raise over £1,000 for Andy’s Man Club, with E3R employees, clients, and partners getting involved by keeping the pedals turning and treadmill running, starting at 7 am on Friday 13th May and finishing Saturday 14th May at 7 am.

The 24-hour bike and treadmill fundraiser is the first in a series of fundraising events for the charity, with the E3R Warriors competing in the Bradford Dragon Boat Festival Multi Charity Championship on Sunday 3rd July, racing against 45 teams at Roberts Park, Saltaire with a sponsorship target of £2,000 for both these events.

In September, we'll be taking part in a five aside football tournament through Business Fives at Goals Football in Bradford. Our football team made up of Captain James Travis, Rodger Morley, Robert Donaldson, Matthew Lorryman, Joe Muxworthy, James Soden, Sean Turner, Martin Spencer and Husten Hudson will be competing against Powell Industries, Nufarm, Epta and Christeyns along with a number of well-known organisations from the West Yorkshire region.

Lucas Whitehead from Andy’s Man Club commented on the partnership: “We are a donation lead charity, so we are delighted that E3 Recruitment has selected Andy’s Man Club as a charity partner. These last 12 months have seen us opening over 50 new clubs to support more men across the UK in England, Scotland, and Wales. This brings us now up to 97 clubs with an extra three opening in May taking us to 100 clubs nationwide.

“Through kind donations, we can provide training for our 500 volunteers, facilitator kits, refreshments, rent, and raise awareness of the groups through campaigns and merchandise. We have set up online clubs to support men in places where we don’t have venues or men can’t attend for mobility or illness reasons. Our slogan is #ItsOkayToTalk, and donations make this happen so we can run our clubs, helping hundreds of men through difficult times in their lives and coming out stronger."
