Royal Parks Half Marathon 2023 · 8 October 2023 ·
Hello hello,
Eleanor, Hugh and Aidan are running the Royal Parks half marathon, yes, they really are…
We’re running it for Mast Cell Action, a charity that has became incredibly important recently as our best pal George has been diagnosed with MCAS (Mast Cell Activation Syndrome)
MCAS is a condition where by your chemicals called mast cell mediators are released too frequently or abundantly, and/or in response to triggers that are not typically considered to be harmful (food/chemicals etc.) This can lead to a wide range of symptoms that affect multiple parts of the body and generally make you really unwell. George developed MCAS after getting Covid-19, and we’re not gonna lie it’s been pretty rough for the last couple of years. There’s still a lot to learn about symptoms, treatments and how to deal with it on a day to day basis.
However, George has received amazing support from this charity and actually now runs peer support groups to help others in the same situation - pretty cool we think. This charity is small but massively impactful. They do however need our support so anything you can give would be so appreciated. However, we know it’s a tricky time for everyone at the moment so if you can’t give no problem. All that we ask is that you take 5mins to look at the website, as awareness and understanding is just as powerful as the funds - thank you! https://www.mastcellaction.org
If you want to support us in person, we’ll be running through the Royal Parks on 8th October - a cheer, clap or even a banner can go a long way…!
