Story
We're taking part in a 10 mile walk from Little Havens to Fair Havens and back. The event, organised by Havens Hospices, takes place Sunday 7th April 2013 - what would have been Margaret Shearman's 73rd birthday.
Following her diagnosis of Parkinson's disase and a type of lung cancer called Mesothelioma, Margaret spend a number of weeks at Havens Hopsice, Chalkwell, Essex in summer 2012 and died there on July 15th.
Our family are enormously grateful for the opportunity to have experienced the specialist and dedicated care given to Margaret; a beloved Wife, Mother and Grandmother. The hospice allowed us to spend every final, precious minute together in a welcoming atmosphere.
Margaret's father, Archie Osborne also resided at the hospice in 1984; in the first year of opening. He died there a few days later. Margaret alway supported the charity following this, and we intend to continue on her behalf.
It will no doubt be an emotional day for us all however we hope to channel it in a positive way by aiming raise over £10,000 for the charity in memory of Margaret Shearman.
