Story
My name is Dylan Stevenson and I am looking to raise funds for Sense Scotland by running in the 2018 Great Scottish Run Half Marathon.
As a baby my older sister, Siobhan, contracted meningitis which resulted in brain damage and cerebral palsy. This has lead to difficult conditions for Siobhan to suffer through over the last 25 years. Despite her condition, Siobhan is always happy and thankful for everything she has. She may not be able to walk or talk but she is always smiling and communicating in other ways. For her to lead an independent life like anyone else in their mid 20's has always been a dream for our family and we are proud that she can lead a life of excitement despite her condition. Between regular outings and organised events, Siobhan is not confined to a monotonous lifestyle just because of her disability.
Sense Scotland is a charitable organisation that aims to help disabled people lead more independent lifestyles like Siobhan so fundraising for them is a cause close to my heart and something the families of disabled people deserve to see.
Siobhan has been a massive inspiration to my extended family so I am sure there are many more people across the UK in similar conditions that should be able to lead a more enjoyable lifestyle regardless of physical or mental capacity.
Please donate to this worthy cause.
Thank you,
Dylan Stevenson
