As we all know, Sri Lanka is going through an economic crisis. A lack of foreign currency has meant Sri Lanka cannot import essential items, including medical supplies. Medical Aid to Sri Lanka is looking to send over medical supplies, to help our counterparts in Sri Lanka and help avoid preventable deaths as a result of this crisis.
There have been several requests from medical practitioners in Sri Lanka for help, in order to prevent the needless of loss of lives, as a result of a lack of medical equipment.
The request we must address immediately is a request from neonatal consultants for endotracheal tubes - breathing tubes that will save a new-borns life, when they cannot breathe for themselves. We plan to purchase these tubes in the United Kingdom and send these by air to Sri Lanka. We are appealing to everyone to donate whatever they can and help avoid preventable deaths.
