About MOVEMBER

 

The Mo, slang for moustache, and November come together each year for Movember. 
 
Movember challenges men to change their appearance and the face of men’s health by growing a moustache. The rules are simple, start Movember 1st clean shaven and then grow a moustache for the entire month.  The moustache becomes the ribbon for men’s health, the means by which awareness and funds are raised for cancers that affect men.  Much like the commitment to run or walk for charity, the men of Movember commit to growing a moustache for 30 days. 

 

This is where I come in! I'm subjecting myself to 30 days of looking a complete idiot, having to catch a train every day with strangers and go to an office environment where everyone will point and laugh at that ridiculous 'Tom Selleck' growing across my upper lip!

 

BUT this is more than just looking like certain people who did certain work in the 1970’s!! All money received is being donated to ‘The Prostate Cancer Charity’.

The Charity

Prostate cancer is the most common cancer in men. 36,000 men are diagnosed with prostate cancer every year. One man dies every hour of prostate cancer. The Prostate Cancer Charity is the UK’s leading charity working with people affected by prostate cancer. They fund research, provide support and information, and campaign to improve the lives of men with prostate cancer. They provide the only UK-wide prostate cancer Helpline staffed by prostate cancer specialist nurses. Our nurses offer free and confidential information and support to anyone affected by prostate cancer. The Prostate Cancer Charity is working towards a world where lives are no longer limited by prostate cancer. The Charity is fighting prostate cancer on every front - through research, support, information and campaigning.
