well to say it was a bit wet and windy is understatement of the year! It was however a fabulous day, the support was amazing despite the awful weather. So a big thank u for that. And i believe my friend Yvette is definately back to her previous level physically as we finished in 4hrs 17 mins. And emotionally? well lets just say as i let go of her hand, a tall dark handsome man took over. woop woop.x

just back from the hospice, met some of the lovely hard working staff and volunteers. This has made it even more real to me now, and the experiance will inspire me through every one of those 26 miles.

In reality i suppose most of the hard work is already done! Only got two long runs left really before the big day on the 29th April. So it was nice to do just a little hour today. Even though i got wet!
I ran my last Marathon in London a few years ago, and it really was my LAST Marathon . I can still remember the pain of the last six miles and saying to myself never ever ever again. I met a lovely lady at that marathon, she was the friend of a friend . Her name is Yvette. Once it was all over we went our separate ways . It wasnt until the December of that year that my friend told me that Yvette had breast cancer. I couldnt believe that someone so strong and so fit could now be so ill. I used to see Yvette in my local area out running, she was fast .I was always in awe at the speed she could run. A year later and following her treatment she couldnt even manage two miles. But the amazing thing is that she wanted too!..MY friend (her name is Karen ) asked if I would do a couple of runs with Yvette "just to get her to the 5 mile stage". Well a couple of runs led to the Wilsmslow half marathon in March 2011. But in Yvettes mind she feels she will really be over her illness when she completes another Marathon. She feels she will be physically and emotionally back to the place she was before this terrible disease struck. So 17 months on we are going to get her to that place together. And why ? because we can and there are a lot of people out there who give anything to be well enough to run even one mile. It is three weeks tomorrow, so i have set up this page in the hope that i may be able to raise a few pounds for St Ann's Hospice. Yvette's the fundraiser, im just the coach ! But i would like to raise a little bit myself for this fabulous hospice.
