Dave's support for Rhino Ark

London Marathon 2017 · 23 April 2017 ·
I am running The 2017 London Marathon to achieve two goals: to complete my first marathon, and more importantly, to raise money for an important cause.
This running event is the largest annual one-day fundraising event in the world, which raised close to £60m in 2016. Although my pledged amount of £1,500 is relatively small in the grander scheme of things, the money I raise will go a long way to the conservation of threatened ecosystems in Africa.
Rhino Ark was established as a charitable trust to help save the Black Rhino population in Kenya. The rhino were under severe threat from rampant poaching for their highly valued horn. Over the years, Rhino Ark’s work has evolved and expanded to include support for conservation initiatives designed to offer long-term solutions to the conservation of mountain forest ecosystems.
For every £19 contributed, one meter of fence is built. Your generous donations will go towards the continued building of an electrified fence to encircle both the Aberdares National Park and the demarcated forestry areas which make up the Aberdares Conservation Area in Kenya.
I hope you can help me support the incredible animals that populate the African continent. Let's work together to ensure the animals of today will be the animals of tomorrow.
