Story

The last 12 months has been difficult for us all and its not over yet. One of my goals for 2021 is to dedicate my time to supporting small charities who support Adults and Children through tough times and really make a difference to peoples lives. My first challenge of the year is to virtually cycle 150miles over 3 consecutive days. Collectively myself and some work colleagues will cover the equivalent distance from John O’Groats to Land’s End (tip of cornwall to highlands scotland). I will begin the challenge at 4pm on Friday 26th March. Please see further details on the two great charities School and Knocks (SOHK) and Clic Sargent below: School of Hard Knocks (SOHK) was established as a charity in 2012 and exists to empower and support both adults and children who are facing social inequality. Through the use of high-impact sport, tailored mentoring and by engendering an atmosphere of genuine acceptance, School of Hard Knocks enables individuals to fully realise their potential. Working across the UK in England, Scotland and Wales, SOHK delivers life-changing programmes and courses that have a long-term impact on participants mental and physical health. The School of Hard Knocks psychology is the key to the charity's success and is what makes SOHK unique. Understanding how we change behaviour is imperative for SOHK in continuing to do great and changing peoples lives https://www.schoolofhardknocks.org.uk/appeal/teamwales CLIC Sargent fights tirelessly to stop cancer destroying young lives. They  know everyone is different, so they work hard to help when each child and young person needs it m ost. They focus on  six core principles to help including: Day to day support, cancer costs and financial support, home from homes for those that need accommodation  for treatment away from home. Children and adult support, Bereavement support and campaigning by making change happen. https://www.clicsargent.org.uk/what-we-do/the-six-ways-we-help/ Your donation, however big or small will make a huge impact on people lives associated with these two great charities. Thank you

About the charity

School of Hard Knocks runs courses that use sport to tackle issues surrounding unemployment, antisocial behaviour, crime and health. We teach responsibility, motivation, teamwork, respect and discipline - all of which allow individuals to take responsibility for their actions and context.
