Story
Dear Friends and Family
As many of you will already be aware I have been warned that my participation in the London to Brighton Bike ride in aid of the Teenage Cancer Trust is no longer advisable. I have recently been diagnosed with a heart condition that requires further investigation. The doctors have advised me that riding 55 miles may not be a great idea. I have also listened to my family and some of my closest friends who unanimously share the same view.
I was devastated when it became clear that I would be unable to do the ride, as I was determined to raise as much money as possible for the Teenage Cancer Trust as they gave me and my family vital support when my son Russell was stricken with Osteosarcoma 25 years ago, when he was just 15.
However some of my dearest friends, organized by the excellent Nick Poole have come up with a plan that will enable fund raising to hopefully continue. On Saturday 10th September (the day prior to the official ride) they will embark on a 55K ride around the local area and any funds raised will be linked to this page. Russell and I hope to join them for at least part of it. The event is fully supported by the TCT and has been renamed
' Ride for Lobby and the Teenage Cancer Trust'
Please continue to give generously to this excellent charity who give help, support and advice to teenagers and their families during their darkest times many of whom may not experience the same outcome as we did.
