Story
We are running in memory of our incredibly missed dad and uncle, Chris Binns. We are aiming to raise money for the QAHH, the only Hospital Home south of London that provides specialist nursing care for ex-servicemen and women.
Chris was a Sergeant in the RAF until a traffic accident caused a severe head injury. The QAHH provided individual care, a home and a second family for Chris, all within a Forces environment, which he loved.
Whilst in the RAF, Chris competed in multiple marathons, triathlons and decathlons, so we thought a race by the sea would be a great way to remember him.
In the spring of last year, Chris was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer and sadly passed away a few months later, aged 60. The QAHH looked after Chris until the very end and supported our family during a very difficult time.
