Story

WANTED
…a new classroom!

It’s back-to-school time. But there is a very special school in St Lucia which needs your help this September.

Saga’s own Charitable Trust supports The Dunnottar School, in Castries, St Lucia for children with special needs. Sited in the poorest part of St Lucia, it’s an amazing institution. It gives education and training to around 60 children and young adults with developmental disabilities, some severe, and helps them to live the best life they can.

The school currently has around 60 children - but 12 new ones, aged between five and nine, want to join in September and there is hardly any room. The classroom desperately needs extending and renovating, and they are also in need of new learning materials.

Run for more than 30 years by the dynamic Carolyn Archibald, the Saga Charitable Trust has been involved for the past three, and has helped buy a bus, set up a computer room – and created a kitchen garden and educative chicken farm to teach the children ways to earn an income.

Guests at Saga’s own Bel Jou Hotel sometimes enjoy a rendition from their school band, too!

CAN YOU HELP THEM RAISE THE MONEY FOR A NEW CLASSROOM?
