I am struggling to believe that I am writing this as my most gorgeous, kind, funny and best friend Vicki and her lovely husband Woody received the heart-breaking news on 3 January 2017 that their gorgeous 4 year old son George has cancer.

We are all devastated.  The absolute fear and indescribable upset felt by his lovely parents is heart-breaking.  They know that they are in for an incredibly tough time over the months to come as George begins his intensive treatment of chemotherapy, radiotherapy, an operation to remove "Tony" the tumour (their way of explaining this to George and his brother) and more chemo.  This is every parents' worst nightmare and something that no 4-year old should ever have to go through.

Determined to do something positive out of this awful situation, Vicki and Woody have set about fundraising to raise £100K for the Royal Marsden Hospital to try to help other families faced with this awful disease.  To show this bravery at such a difficult time is simply inspiring (and makes me even more in awe of my fantastic best friend, than I already was!)  There is no way that we are letting Vicki, Woody, gorgeous Georgie and his lovely big brother Alex face this alone and want to do everything that we can to help them through this unspeakably horrendous time.  Therefore, we are joining them in fundraising for George and the Giant Pledge.

Over the coming months I will be taking part in a number of events to raise money for George and the Giant Pledge, all of which will go towards the children's team at the Royal Marsden Hospital.
