We fund research and provide support to improve blood cancer patients' lives

Story

We're a community dedicated to beating blood cancer. We do this by funding research and supporting those affected. Since 1960, we've invested over £500 million in blood cancer research, transforming treatments and saving lives. Right now, our community is funding 360 researchers and staff across the UK who are searching for the next breakthrough. The day we will beat blood cancer is now in sight and the researchers are determined to finish the job.

My fundraising with the charity commenced in 1998 when it was known as Leukaemia Research Fund, with a Charity Football Day. Following this l held 2 Its A Knockout Days, based on the the BBC show. Our total raised has passed over £240,000

For the remaining years since , Phil Mullins and myself have held  Annual Charity Golf Days in the Memory of Gemma Holland and Matthew Mullins.

With the Covid sadly affecting all fundraisers from all charities going ahead, l wanted to be positive and start off 2022 with a different type of fundraiser...The Virtual Walk Of Light on Saturday March 26h from Pitsea to Basildon, and return.

This event is in the memory of 2 children that remain in our thoughts always, Gemma and Matthew.
