Destination Florida is a charity that works with children who have life threatening and life limiting medical conditions, and their parents or guardians.  This amazing charity organises life enhancing biannual trips to Florida for around 75 children from across the North of the UK.  Lasting for 8 days, the children are given the opportunity to visit all the major theme parks including; Animal Kingdom, Magic Kingdom, Hollywood Studios, Universal Studios and Islands of Adventure.

I'm well aware that I'm only going without 1 thing for 3 months, while all of these kids go without many things during their challenging lifetimes, so please give generously!

My previous challenge was walking 120kms across Namibia in 7 days carrying a 25kg pack - many have said this challenge will be even tougher!

I decided to fire this out early February as many may have recently completed their dry January - how would another 2 months have felt?

So I've got just under 2 months to go, having to avoid alcohol in all the situations where I'd usually have it, which has been at the majority of social and work events over the last 30 years, so I'm a little apprehensive!

I've generally associated alcohol with having a good time, so it'll be interesting to see what sort of time I have without alcohol, and whether I'll miss out on some invites when people realise I won't be drinking.

I'll have regularly been exceeding the recommended weekly units (although 14 does seem very low!), with December being a little heavier, so although I'd been having a good time, I wasn't feeling great by the end of last year.  I'm hoping to feel the health benefits over the next 2 months, because I certainly haven't over month one - look out for the regular updates!
