Story
Many have scaled huge mountains for charity, run many marathons and even more extreme people in their 50's have worn Jeans to work.
For me, its time to step up and take on a challenge that will certainly push me to the edge and gain my official status as an athlete....ok so a slight exaggeration!
My friends and supporters, I will be giving up alcohol for January. All in aid of the fantastically deserving Cancer Research UK.
Yes my friends I’m becoming a "Dryathlete".
All through January I’m not going to touch alcohol. Not a drop. So please dig deep and donate. Every pound helps Cancer Research UK bring forward the day when all cancers are cured.
Cancer is an illness that has effected far to many of my friends and family. Too many have lost loved one's in the prime of their lives. Too many don't get to see family and friends grow up.
More recently I've also been directly involved with one of my best mates who just over a year ago was given a 20 per cent chance of survival when he was diagnosed with a rare form of nose cancer that spread to his brain.
He beat cancer twice but I'll never forget seeing him 24hrs after he had an 11hr operation to remove parts of his face to cut away the cancer which affected bone and brain cells.
Feel free to take a moment to read further about Adams amazing journey but please come back to donate and support me: http://www.thisistotalessex.co.uk/Adam-defies-odds-return-work-year-cancer/story-17110121-detail/story.html
Thanks for all the support and helping me to truly make a difference. Cheers
Simon
