Story
My friends....
As I'm sure you all know, I like a good drink. In fact a few of you may even (rudely) say Im an alcoholic.... However, I prefer the term 'alcohol dependant'! So whilst I may be under the influence as I type, I hereby delare I’m giving up alcohol... For January. For Cancer Research UK. And for my poor, poor liver!
Yes, I’m becoming a Dryathlete. All through January I’m not going to drink alcohol. Not a drop. So instead of buying me a pint, I’d like you to donate. Every pound helps Cancer Research UK bring forward the day when all cancers are cured. I’ll be donating my jager bomb and tequila money, and if I happen to slip off the wagon, I’ll chuck in an extra £15 to make up for it.
So far, the people I have told said theres absolutely no way I can do this (not particularly supportive, but they have a point)... However, if you don't yet think this is a real challenge please be adivsed of the following - Upon reflection, I think the last time I went over a week without a bev was about ten years ago. So you see, this is going to be so much harder than running a measly 26 miles!! So dig deep, and sponsor me. Please.
Cheers to 2013.
Your pal, Amanda 'Chops' Currie
